Blue Water Organic Shrimp Farm
Michael Johnson
Michael Johnson became the first Family Island-based winner of the Deltec Young Entrepreneurs Award in 2023. Michael’s Blue Water Organic Farm (located on the island of Grand Bahama) is on the brink of pioneering the national seafood industry by providing fresh, sustainable seafood to locals and tourists through national supermarket chains, and five-star restaurants and neighborhood eateries. Johnson expressed his excitement that the DIYE shared his vision and their commitment to a selection process that included all Bahamians, not just Nassauvians. While admitting that he was nervous and anxious about the pitch competition, Johnson credited his win to his mentors and his resiliency. Blue Water Organic Farms mission is to be an industry leader through environmentally friendly technologies for the purpose of producing a commercially viable product, that will capitalize on our innovative process, lowering cost to the consumer. The short term goal is to completely capture the entire shrimp import market, contributing to food security in the Bahamas. The long term goal is to export premium healthy shrimp to neighboring countries at a price cheaper than the competition.

Corn Diggity Dogs
Aquindo Colebrooke
Aquindo Colebrooke is the owner of Corn Diggity Dogs, 2020 winner of the Deltec Young Entrepreneurs Award. Corn Diggity Dogs is a Bahamian-owned and operated food provider specializing in a unique variety of corn dogs with a Bahamian flair. Established in 2014, Corn Diggity Dogs has gained popularity as a pop-up vendor at many local festivals and events. Corn Diggity Dogs key products include: 100% Beef Corn Dogs; 100% Turkey Corn Dogs; Conchy Conch Dogs; Vegan Corn Dogs; Keto Beef Dogs and Keto Turkey Dogs. Corn Diggity Dogs was founded out of Aquindo’s passion for cooking and love for corn dogs. Before devoting himself fulltime to Corn Diggity Dogs, Aquindo served as a marine with the Royal Bahamas Defense Force for 10 years where he used his skills as a certified Marine Outbooard Technician and Saxophonist in various capacities.

Cordero J. Bonamy
Having completed his secondary education at St. John’s College in Nassau, Bahamas, Cordero J. Bonamy went on to attend Dickinson State University, where he received his BSc. in Biology in 2011. Cordero continued his studies at UWI-Mona, where he received his BSc. in Physiotherapy in 2016. Returning home at the end of 2016, he devoted his time to volunteering at sporting events and raising physiotherapy awareness in The Bahamas. Cordero founded Aktiv Body in August 2017, and has gained experience by traveling with numerous Bahamian national sports teams. His desire to assist others combined with his extensive knowledge fuels him to help patients regain functionality.

KLK Consulting Ltd. established in 2015 is a recruitment company founded based on a need many companies had for quality staff in the workplace. What began as a simple consultancy with a resort grew into a small business making a major impact within various organizations. KLK Consulting has contributed to the employment of 100’s of Bahamians with no cost to them. Additional services offered include background checks, external staffing, resort babysitting services and more. Kristin Kelly holds a Bachelors in Psychology from St. Mary’s University and a Master’s in Human Resource Management from Nova Southeastern University.

Her dedication to innovative balloon designs, superior customer service, and originality provides her with a competitive edge. Karis Knowles is an eleven-year-old, honour roll student at Temple Christian Elementary School.

Paradise Adventures is an ambitious beachfront entertainment company that seeks to provide the first-ever floating island entertainment just off the mainland of Nassau. This destination will be a new lifestyle enhancement for both the locals and tourists in the Bahamas. This floating structure will feature an inflatable water park with music entertainments, motorized and non-motorized water sports. With loads of new ways to appreciate and explore, Paradise Adventures seeks to create the world’s greatest beach day affair every day. No matter the occasion, this will always be the place to celebrate. Bartler Blanc has an extensive background in the local tourism industry.
Ribbons For Life

Ribbons for Life is the brain-child of Te’ja A. Munnings. What originally began as a small avenue for a young girl to bring awareness to cancer, has blossomed into a deep passion and global mission to raise funds for cancer. Combining her talent for sewing with her passion for helping those in need, Ribbons for LIFE (Living In Faith Everyday) produces handmade ribbons to bring awareness to the numerous types of cancer affecting infants, children, teenagers and young adults. Te’ja gives a portion of her proceeds from sale of the ribbons to various cancer care organizations. Te’ja Munnings, Ribbons for Life founder, is a 10th grade student at Queen’s College.

KB Photography and Films was established in 2014 to provide quality photography and videography services. At the helm of KB Photography and Films is Kryston Butler, who is an avid photographer with an eye for capturing images, freezing moments in time and revealing how rich reality truly is, through photography. Kryston aims to capture all of life events through his camera to create lifetime memories for each and every client, a picture to make a moment last forever. KB Photogrpahy also offers photo booth services through its Strike-A-Pose Photo Booth brand. Kryston Butler received a Photography & Theater Certificate from the Dillard University.

Joshua’s late father had a family recipe for making limeade. He used indigenous limes along with other natural fruits to create his blueprint, putting a Bahamian twist on the traditional lemonade. Unlike most bottled, fruit drink products, Limeade Bahamas’ beverages are not made from concentrate, nor use artificial syrups or flavourings. The product is made with fresh limes, purified water, unrefined sugar cane and fresh fruits, which gives Limeade Bahamas a distinct taste that separates it from other beverages in the market. Joshua Miller holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Paul Quinn College.

Though she recognized her interest, it took more than 10 years of researching and accumulating an obsessive collection of candle recipes and ideas before she actually made her first candle. What began as crafting creations for gifting to family and friends, has blossomed into a fulfilling, passion driven small business, specializing in candles and home fragrances. Tavara Simon is a wife, mother, and a self-taught chandler. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration Management from Nova Southeastern University.

Art(sea) Creative is an art retail business that customizes glassware with Genaye’s signature design of dripped paint flowing down the glass. Always looking for new ways to challenge herself as an artist, Genaye started experimenting and pushing the limits of hand-building with ceramics, thus created a collection of “egg-shell” thin ceramic bowls. Genaye thrives with customized work and enjoys working with clients to create new designs. Besides being the artist and running her business, Genaye is also an art teacher at C.I Gibson Senior High School. Genaye Sherman holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Art Education from the University of The Bahamas.
