Deltec Bank Supports Junior Achievement’s Most Distinguished Achiever Award Programme

Deltec Bank & Trust Limited (“Deltec Bank”) is pleased to announce its support of Junior Achievement (JA) Bahamas’ Most Distinguished Achiever’ award programme – the highest honour that a student can receive as a Junior Achiever. Achievers are nominated by their company for a distinguished track record during the programme year.

On May 27th, Junior Achievement held its Most Distinguished Achiever Awards ceremony in Grand Bahama. Rihanna Smith, 12th grade student at the Bishop Michael Eldon Senior High School, was awarded a Most Distinguished Achiever Award Scholarship by Deltec Bank, after placing second in the Most Distinguished Achiever award programme in Grand Bahama.

Additionally, Rihanna was awarded as the Most Distinguished Officer for her role as the VP of Marketing at FOCOL ELITE x2, her JA Company.

Dequann Carroll, the Programme Coordinator for JA Grand Bahama noted, “as a third-year achiever and VP of Marketing for her JA Company, Rihanna has always been an exemplary young lady, exhibiting, leadership and commitment to the JA program. We are grateful to Deltec Bank for the role they play as a corporate citizen enabling students, like Rihanna, to have a better and brighter future!”

Tammy Lecky, Executive Director of Junior Achievement Bahamas spoke about the role JA plays in the community, “Our work with students involved in the Junior Achievement Bahamas programmes is deeply rooted in the belief that if we can shift the perception of what is possible, reward what has been achieved and provide keys for the future, we are building a nation that is educated, adaptable and creative in its thinking. Deltec Bank’s funding of our scholarships and their support speaks volumes to their dedication as a Corporate Citizen to inspire our youth and equip them in a very practical way, with the opportunity to succeed.”
