Michael Schmidt has 25 years of experience within the financial industry, of which 18 years were spent working for several banks (WM and trading). After an an all-round 3-year apprenticeship at Credit Suisse in Valais, Switzerland, he joined CS First Boston in Zurich (New Issues & Derivatives desk), then joined BNP Paribas Dublin, Ireland, in 2002 as ALM dealer and was promoted to Senior Dealer ALM in 2004.
After a year of traveling in Australia & New Zealand, he joined UBS Verbier, Switzerland, to start his Private Banking career in charge of actively trading and UK & Ireland based clients. In 2007, he was part of the team setting up the Verbier, Switzerland, office of Julius Baer. And, in 2010, with the desire to extend his international network and exposure, he moved to Dubai and set up a new team at BNP Paribas called Global Entrepreneurs” – he was named Executive Director in 2012 and in charge of the Key Client segment locally. Since August 2015 he has been the CIO and Head of Private office for a Dubai based UHNWI entrepreneur. Michael is a Certified International Wealth Manager (CIWM).
