Our Pillars

Every generation changes the world it inherits, but few have been more dramatically poised to leave their mark on The Bahamas than the youth of today – a diverse group of leaders, thinkers, creatives and innovators who are charged with building a stronger society. For the Bahamas to sustain and advance itself, access to “opportunity” for all is key. The Deltec Initiatives Foundation advocates for promising and deserving young Bahamians through the power of arts, entrepreneurship and scholarship by promoting and providing opportunities that empower young Bahamians to become positive social influencers at home, to compete globally, and to make an impact wherever in the world their paths lead them.

Initiative for The Arts

The Deltec Initiative for the Arts was founded in 2013. The purpose is to support young, emerging Bahamian artists and artisans in the development of their talents and fulfillment of their dreams by providing free exhibition space for an extended period and a chance to gain valuable exposure through our network of contacts.

Initiative for Young Entrepreneurs

The Deltec Initiative for Young Entrepreneurs, formed in 2017, is the brainchild of Deltec employees. It runs in Deltec’s veins to advocate for youth who dare to follow their vision and innovate with audacity and determination. The Young Entrepreneurs Award is in recognition of the vision, passion, hardwork and growth that an entrepreneur demonstrates.

Initiative for Scholarship and Education

The Deltec Initiative for Scholarship and Education was established in 2018. Its aim is to increase access to postsecondary education by awarding a highly selective full scholarship and mentorship programme for exceptional public high school seniors from the inhabited family islands to attend the University of the Bahamas.

The Deltec Initiatives Foundation is managed and operated by a group of dedicated volunteers from amongst the Deltec staff.

DISASTER RELIEF

Deltec Cares was created to support both immediate relief efforts and longer-term assistance necessary to help survivors of natural disasters in The Bahamas recover and rebuild.
